Re: Feast of San Rocco in Capriati al Volturno
There is a problem somewhere since the website is correct but the transition to the website is off due to website congestion(?). In any event the Patron Saint for Capriati al Volturno is San Nicola and not San Rocco. Is this a situation where the Feast of San Rocco is celebrated on December 6 but at the same time San Rocco is not the patron saint of Capriati al volturno???
This would explain the date difference. =Peter=

Re: Feast of San Rocco in Capriati al Volturno
Feast of San Rocco in 15 and 16 August. Very old. The statue is 1717 but the adoration of the saint is from XVI century. In the evening of 16 august there is a very beautiful procession for the street of Capriati and at the begining there is the "bow" between San Rocco and San Nicola venerated from 1268 at least. With San Rocco and San Nicola there is the statue of Virgin Mary delle Grazie venerated from 881 (yes, IX century). At the end there is a nice show of fireworks in the square.
This is what my cousin sent me.
I am rally getting excited now, 21 days til departure!.

Holly most if not all comunes in Italy have a patron saint ( a principal saint and the other lesser venerated saints are not listed in comune websites like San Rocco since you apparently think they are all equal. The names of most people in these towns are usually after the first name of the PATRON SAINT and tghen much less for those not a Patfron Saint. =Peter=
