Not allowed certified copies of BC/Marriage/Death from Il?

I am asking for the correct thing right? I am looking for these documents to present to the consult for dual citizenship.

Would the people that are alive have to do this for me???

You would only be entitled to certified copies of your spouse and children’s records. Otherwise the certificate holder themselves would have to request their own record. If they are deceased you would have to complete an application for a search of birth record and provide proof of death. We would need the completed application, check or money order and a copy of your current photo id. You can download the application and get complete information on ordering the records from our website at www.idph.state.il.us.

Yes, Illinois is more strict than some of the other states. I filled out all the paperwork and wrote out the check, to make the process very easy. All that my elderly relative needed to do was to sign the form. But she was the one who had to sign the form because it was to request her certified birth certificate.

I guess you are correct because I received another response:

You would not be entitled to certified copies of your grandmother and father’s record. Since they are not deceased they would have to request their own record. You can complete the special application for a deceased individual and provide proof of death for your grandfather and receive his birth record. Our records for marriages did not start until 1962. We do not have copies of marriage license here in our office. Anything prior to 1962 or if you need a copy of the marriage license would have to be obtained from the county clerk’s office in the county they were married in.

I am still trying to get a birth certificate from cook co. IL from 1893 and a marriage certificate from 1910. I don't think the birth certificate of my GGM [NON ITALIAN SIDE] needs to be certified but the marriage does. I got nowhere e-mailing. They don't seem to understand their own web sites. You need to write cook county if it is not at http://cookcountygenealogy.com/ but even they don't seem to understand that. They just keep referring me to that site. You can't get certified copies there or order if they don't come up in a search. Which they don't. I know the marriage cert. exists in that county because the familysearch site has it. What county are you dealing with? Where did you find a request form for a decreased person's info? I haven't found that one. Maybe the records I need are just older then most people are looking for.
