I have family from Nicosia, Sicily with a surname of Basilotta. Is it true there are hospitals named Basilotta there?I was told this but Im having trouble finding any info.

I just looked through them. There is the one you mentioned above and a Ospedale Carlo Basilotta also. So the rumor is true! I want to find out more about this name. Im as far bask as my ggg grandparents. They were born in the 1840s or 50s. Who do I contact. Nicosia or archives?

Thank you! They wouldnt happen to have an email would they? Sometimes if the birth was a long time ago the comune doesnt have the record because they are kept by the archives. Id like to ask them.

they had registry of birth death and marriage from 1820. i saw with my eyes several years ago. Write a detailed request for your relatives.
