Hello! I've had great luck on this site finding out about the maternal side of my Italian heritage (Cornacchia), and I'd love to learn about the paternal side as well.
I know that my great grandfather, Giovanni Antognoni (d. 6 Dec 1966) married Antonia DeAngelis (d. 21 Oct 1981). They lived in Winchendon, MA.
I also know that Giovanni Antognoni's parents were Louigi Antognoni and Rosa Cardinali (both lived in Italy). Antonia DeAngelis's parents were Angelo DeAngelis and Maria Reinabucci (both lived in Italy). My dad says he knows his family is from Fano, Italy.
So, it should look a little something like this:
Louigi Antognoni m. Rosa Cardinali --> son: Giovanni Antognoni
Angelo DeAngelis m. Maria Reinabucci --> daughter: Antonia DeAngelis
I've done a little research already on Giovanni Antognoni and Antonia DeAngelis and have been able to find Giovanni's Naturalization Record and WWII Draft Registration card, but I'm having trouble finding records for their parents. I think part of the trouble may be the spelling of the names. My nona isn't sure which spelling of the name Antognoni was used on official records. It seems as though the surname varied between Antognoni, Antononi and Antonioni.
Thank you for your time and help!

Re: Surname: Antognoni/DeAngelis
That's them! My nona (Eva Antognoni) says that her mother (Antonia DeAngelis) was also known as Joesphine. However, I think the spelling of "Antognorie" is a mistake. I've found Giovanni Antognoni's naturalization record and WWII draft registration card, both of which have his surname listed as Antognoni.
I haven't found any records yet confirming that the Antognoni family was from Fano; however, my nona insists that's where they're from. I have found one possible record for an Antonia DeAngelis arriving in New York on 17 Dec 1916 (New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 Record for Antonia DeAngelis). They have her nativity listed as "Tesaro." Do you think this could be a misspelling of Pesaro? If it is, wouldn't that be a connection to Fano, Italy?
I'm searching to see if I can find out about Giovanni Antognoni's parents (Luigi Antognoni and Rosa Cardinali) and Antonia DeAngelis's parents (Angelo DeAngelis and Maria Reinabucci). So far, I haven't found anything.

The surname on the 1930 census was transcribed incorrectly at ancestry. com
For reference here's your 1916 manifest
This Antonia is single and headed to Ontario to join her mother Maria's brother
Born in Cartoceto, Province of Pesaro e Urbino, region Marche,
If this is your Antonia, it probably means that she and Giovanni met and married in Canada
According to their 1930 census they had their 1st son in Canada and 1st daughter in NH
