MAJOR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ERRORS

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

MAJOR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ERRORS

Post by cocokj »

My paternal GF & GM were both widowers when they married in 1919.

Their marriage certif. has these errors:
1) HERBERT Parisi instead of ALBERTO, but his signature is signed ALBERT Parisi.
2) ROSINA Instead of Rosa.
3) In the Single, Widowed,or Divorced question, SINGLE INSTEAD OF WIDOWED is recorded for both of them.
4)In the Maiden name question, a Dash is used instead of BRINDISI her maiden name.
5) The last question does ask NUMBER of MARRIAGE as 1 for the both of them. That is correct.
6) The grooms father's name as HERBERT INSTEAD OF SIMONE

Now I do have a certif. copy of my grandmother's 1st Marriage. It has all the correct information.

Question... Should I get my grandfathers 1st marriage cert. as proof for the Miami Consulate. Or must I get their marriage cert. amended if possible?
