Di Sandro family

Post by jdfc33 »

hi I am looking for information on the DiSandro family coming from Colli al volturno and emigrating to Philadelphia and Rhode Island. My great grandfather is Michele DiSandro. I have found many cousins Domenic, Lucia, Angelo, Achille, and etc. His father died and mother remarried and had other children that I suspect emigrated to Rhode Island, also. I do not know his parents names or the new surname of his half-siblings. Help

Can you be more explicit as to what information you are seeking? iThere is so much that I can direct you to that your research requires some thought. Peter

There is a Michele DiSandro who arrived in US...once in 1906 and again in 1910 from Colli. Go to www.ellisisland.org and search the arrivals at Ellis Island. If his wife's maiden name was Fiore or Fioro, this is your Michael.

The civil records for Colli a Volturno are available on microfilm at the Family History Library nearest to your home. These are the birth, death, and marriage records of the town and cover from 1809-1899 in this instance. You can get Michele's entire family, as well as the step brothers and sisters. They are in Italian but can be read with a translation dictionary and a lot of persistence.

Good Luck.
