Translation Help

I'm trying to translate something my great-grandmother's wrote on the back of a small picture of her father. I think I have the gist of it, but I can't decipher some of the words. Her handwriting is atrocious and I think she may have misspelled several words:

Mia cara sorella gli esto eni l'ulttimo ricordo di papa la mortto estate il 29 Maggi 1936 ricordo

I'm not positive, but I believe she's saying that the picture is a final memory/picture of her father given to her by her sister. I'm not sure if she's writing that the picture was taken in on May 29, 1936, or that's when he died, or something else.
