Migration to Argentina

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Migration to Argentina

Post by Zengac »

I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction here ... My grandmother use to say that her grandfather, Luigi Lupi, left Italy and went to Argentina where he was murdered on a coffee plantation. The only information I have about Luigi is that he was born in 1848 and his parents where Francesco A. Lupi and Alexandrina Sesti. He married Biatrice Sesti in 1874. I also have a certificate dated 1870 that says that Luigi was qualified to work in the town hall of San Pietro di Amantea. So my question is, where would I begin to try to track Luigi in Argentina, assuming he really did travel to that country?
