contact information Italy HELP!
Hi everyone,
Here's an update on my citizenship process (or lack thereof...):
I have all documents ready to hand in to the comune EXCEPT my GGF's baptismal record. I talked to the priest in charge of the archives in the diocese of Piacenza and he said the town of Bertone is not listed in the archives. Bertone is a town of one street, where currently no one lives, in the comune of Ottone, province of Piacenza.
Anyways, this priest directed me to another person that can help me, without giving me his contact info though, and hasn't responded to my request of this. I'm looking for a Don Vincenzo/Enzo Mancini....I don't know if anyone can help me but it's worth a shot! Thanks!

I've forgotten, why are you looking for the baptismal record?
It is not a required document and unlikely to be accepted in lieu of a civil birth certificate.

Hi Carmine,
I have to get the baptismal record because his birth certificate isn't in the comune. I'm applying in Italy and the woman in the comune in charge of citizenship said its ok.
m.p.bisi--I searched the message you were referring to but you are confusing me with ollyolly.

It's currently a summertime only town where mostly genovesi go that had parents/grandparents from there. In the 1940's and 1950's everyone vacated it. This is pretty much the cause of my problem.hollyolly7 wrote: Bertone is a town of one street, where currently no one lives, in the comune of Ottone, province of Piacenza.

I probed a little deeper and found it is considered a "habitable nucleus" I suspect it must be similar to a 711 and gas station in the middle of somewhere. =Peter=
