Re: Marriage Bann - Handwriting Help and Translation Please
Here you are.
There is no actual marriage date...
The year 1889, te day 3 of January, at 9:30am, in the town hall.
Before me Francesco Toriano(sp?) mayor and civil state officer,
appeared Francesco Signorelli aged 24, tailor,
residing in Tarsia, son of the deceased Giuseppe
aged --- residing in ----, son
of Serafina Di Grazia, farmer, residing in Tarsia,
and also appeared Angiolina Spina aged 15 completed, farmer
residing in Tarsia, daughter of the deceased Vincenzo
aged ---- residing in ----, daughter
of the deceased Mariana Lucilio (sp?), farmer residing in Rende
who asked me to post the banns for the marriage that they intend to celebrate
in this office
and they declared that the groom was born in Tarsia and the bride in
Rende that the groom has been residing for a year up to now
in Tarsia ad the bride xxx in Rende and that she has no adoptive parents,
that there are no obstacle due to kinship or affinity, nor legal obstacles.
These declaration have been confirmed, with a legal oath,
by Giuseppe Mauro, aged 29 shoemaker and by
Giuseppe Cangoro(sp?) aged 56 municipal messenger both
residing in this Comune, withnesses attending the act. After examining the documents presented
that I insert in the book of the attachment to this register, with my signature, I declare
that the banns will be posted in Tarsia.
The documents are: Copies of the birth acts of the spouses, released by the Ufficio
di Stato Civile of Tarsia for the groom and the Ufficio
di Satto Civile of Rende for the Bride, the extracts of the death acts
of Vincenzo Signorelli, father of the groom and of Vincenzo Spina
father of the bride ..............
Read this act to the attendees it was signed only by the witnesses
being the spouses illiterate.
The banns were posted on January 6, Sunday and on January 13 (Sunday) thru the 17th.

Livio - a BIG thanks as always! As hard as I try I just can't seem to be able to read those handwritten words - maybe with time? You have been an immense help with these recent records I've found and will help me find others with the info you've provided.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
