I have had great success locating information about my husband's paternal great-grandparents, Antonio Gatti, b. 1832 in Castiglione, and his second wife, Francescantonia Gambaro, b. 1847. They lived for most of their lives near Castiglione. However, in the 1890s, they were listed in their daughter Chiara's marriage act (to a member of the Pallone family) as residents of Gallico, Reggio Calabria.
I was surprised that they moved. I have had no luck locating information about their death dates. Since they were living near Reggio Calabria, would it be likely that records were destroyed in the 1908 earthquake?
If anyone can give me some information about this couple or any helpful leads,
we would be so grateful.
