Ciao! I am researching my great grandparents Carmela and Salvatore Ambrogio, I just got Salvatores "Estratto Per Riassunto" back from Italy and am still waiting for Carmela's. That is the extract of the birth act, and I think this will pass as his birth certificate? If someone can verify that would be great. My appointment with the Newark Consulate is in Feb. 2013 so I have a little time to get everything together.
Thankfully, I was able to find both Salvatore and Carmela's naturalization records online, I have attached it here. Can someone PLEASE explain to me if I need this card for my appointment, if a copy of this will suffice? Will I need an apostille for this? Also, what other documents can I unlock using the Alien Registration number??
Because they were naturalized in Brooklyn I plan on going to the National Archives on Varick St. in Manhattan, and if I need an apostille I will need to go to the Manhattan County Clerk Notary. Also PLEASE tell me how to get an apostille for my father's birth certificate and my grandmother's birth certificate.
Thanks in advance everyone and good luck!!!

Re: Alien Registration Number- Naturalized in Brooklyn
You do not need the index card for your appointment, this is just so NARA can locate the documents you need. Bring it to NARA on Varick Street and they will find the documents you need. Let them know that you need a certified copy. The naturalization paperwork does not need to be apostilled or translated. As for the birth certificates, where they get the apostille depends upon where the birth certificates were recorded. If New York state, go to the following website for instructions: http://www.dos.ny.gov/corps/apostille.html.
Good luck.
Good luck.
