Hello,
I have posted here once before about Antonio, but now that I know more information, I thought I would see if anyone had any information about any other family members.
I am looking for any information on Antonio Bellin, born Aug 27, 1876 in Bolzano Vicentino. His mother is Margherita Feltelani and she was supposedly a prominent individual in Bolzano Vicentino. His father, also named Antonio, passed away before his birth.
Antonio Bellin (8.27.1876) married Luigia Mutterle in Bolzano Vicentino on May 11, 1899. They immigrated to Illinois, USA in 1903 and Luigia died in May 1913. After her death, Antonio went back to Italy for several months and found a new wife, Virginia Bigarella (born Nov 26, 1876 in Bressanvido).
Antonio and Virginia lived in the Nokomis, Illinois area until their deaths in 1960 and 1953, respectively.
Family tales state that Antonio had a brother who lived in South America (possibly Argentina?), but no other information is known. Also, there are stories that Antonio's mother, Margherita Feltelani, remarried after Antonio's birth. I have some documentation of money that Antonio sent to a Margherita Gelsaloni in Bolsano in 1922. This could possibly be his mother.
Additionally, I found some typewritten letters addressed to "Uncle Antonio" from a Giuseppe Bellin. These were written in 1958 and 1960 and sent from Verona. I cannot, however, find a connection to Giuseppe since I do not know Antonio's siblings.
I have been able to conduct much research here in the US regarding Antonio, but any information about him before he came to the US is lost. Any information about any of these families and their time in Italy would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Erin
