Need court letter from Waterbury, CT re GGF birth date

Post by lisahickey »

From a recent post "And sure enough, there is a 1, that's right, a 1 day difference in date of birth [between original Italian BC and petition for naturalization]. So now I need a court order stating that the person the on naturalization document is the same as the person the Italian BC."

I had the same experience today (birth date off by one day on petition of naturalization) and would love any advice about how to get the court letter - it seems complicated because the court is going to be asked to certify the accuracy of a birth certificate which was issued in Italy (outside of their jurisdiction). I have to do it in Waterbury, CT, if anyone has experience there. Anyone done this successfully there? I tried to get the court to give me a document addressing a spelling discrepancy in last names already, without success.

Thanks, as always.

I too have a discrepancy in names and dates on some of the documents I have acquired. If I do need a court order, does anyone know what kind of court I can apply to? I was at a Probate Court on another matter for citizenship but the judge said he could not help me. Any suggestions?

Thanks for a reply.
