1912 Antonio manifest says uncle Giuseppe

The 1909 manifest goes back to Macdougal St... too...

Is it possible that Marie above and Giuseppe (born Giustina and last residence was in Meano) appearing on Ellis Island 1909are siblings? So this Giuseppe isn't my great grandfather in fact. Marie and Giuseppe who both lived in Meano once probably joined their uncle Giuseppe Lise...? Am I right?

Need a little break. I'll be back in about an hour...

Sorry guys... I'm getting slightly confused.

I'm doing a big report on all the information gathered here... once compiled I'll put it up on the web. It's getting very complex... :?

Before you go...

I think Guiseppe and Marie were cousins... since her father is Angelo...

I think there was a problem with Guiseppe's 1909 manifest.. but my hunch is that his father was Antonio...even tho it say Guiseppe... :?

I am hoping that the Antonio Lise - (Mosaic worker) is your Guglielmo Antonio Lise....

Maria

Need to take a break too... :P

Here's a map of the Italian towns/region concerned:

All three names - Belluno, Guistina, Meano are within 15km away from each other.

I'm so sorry, I meant 1912 Alberto manifest - not Antonio
(Umberto in 1902 manifest?, Alberto on 1910 census & 1912 manifest)
says uncle Giuseppe.

No problem Val! It's easy to get names confused... my mind is a mess with so many Josephs and Marias.

Could somebody possibly check this persons's WWII reg record? Louis Lise (my grandfather's brother)

Wow that was quick Val! Thank you. Not so much info on this one ... :(
I wonder if Joseph/Giuseppe Lise was Louis' father or not.. maybe I could request a birth certificate to check because I'm so suspicious of this Joseph/Giuseppe, he's never on the Census...!
The Italian Genealogy forum has helped me find out a lot about my Italian family. I am very thankful for all the time and effort put into this great community : )

True true.

William Anthony (B 1913, D 1970) - awaiting birth certificate from New York county but it may actually had been registered at Westchester... now that I think of it.

Maria (B 1914, still living in California!)

Reta (B 1917, Married Joseph Giangrego, D 2001)

Louis (B 1920, Married Carmella DiMaggio, D 1978)

I'll wait to see if the birth certificate comes and if it doesn't then I assume it's in Westchester... I find itmuch more difficult to order things from Westchester because I need to send cheques (in dollars), stamped envelopes etc .. NY county does things online so it's pretty simple.

Aaaaah Val. Well spotted... so Adolfina died young. I get carried away very easily..

Because of the writing that can be read as Emma I guess. There's so many up and downs in geneaological research... :) :( :) :( :)

So now I have to prove that Joseph/Giuseppe Lise naturalised after 13 March 1913 (when my gradfather was born). In 1910 (census), Joseph/Giuseppe appears to be an alien still along all his other family members. I wonder if he naturalised between 1910 and March 1913... This is exciting but slightly nerve wrecking too. He definitely was a naturalised citizen in 1917 (WWI reg card).

I've just emailed NARA re naturalisation records. Hope to get an answer soon..
