1948 Case with Luigi Paiano

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Has anyone had the 1948 case analyzed by Judge Daniela Bianchini?

Hi All,
We were assigned a judge and the first meeting is on Sept 27. The judge is PRATESI CECILIA. Does anyone have experience with her or know if she's one of the judges that requires two sessions?

Hi All,
Luigi responded and said this judge usually did it in one session, but I know one can never be sure. I am trying to lay out the timeline, if anyone can help, please reply!

Our court date Sept 27 -- Luigi told me the judge we have "usually' does it in one session. From this session, we will hear if it is approved or not.
After this it could be 3 - 4 months for "deposit of decision" or "sentencing" though for some I saw it took less than a month. This is what makes it official.
Then 3-7 months for the comune (our home town) to register our records and return documentation to Luigi and Luigi sends to us.
It's that last step I am not clear about, does Luigi send to us and we take what he sends to our nearest consulate?

@Qliner the sentencing takes a lot less than 4 months. It depends on your judge. My sentenza was done in twelve days, as I posted earlier.

After that, six months until the sentenza is final, then you send it to your comune for registration.
The last step depends very much on you. Luigi sends you the sentenza and a copy of your italian birth certificate and you can go to your consulate to A) Register in AIRE and B) Get a passport and Carta D'Identitá.

Myself, I'm skipping my consulate because of how long it takes, and registering in Italy directly. I have family there to stay for a month or so while I register everything in the Comune and get my Carta and Passport.

Hi All,
We were assigned a judge and the first meeting is only on Jan 24, 2017. The judge is Daniela Bianchini. I was told this judge usually did it in one session. Well for another process that Luigi deposited in the same day the first meeting is on Oct 5th (2016) but the judge is another person. So I was not lucky. Anyway there is nothing to do. Just wait.

An update in my case. Luigi has informed me that the judge will not require another meeting and will publish his decision. Luigi said it could take up to 5 months, but everyone else seems to receive theirs in a month or so. I will post again when I have more news.

This was added to my case on the website:
31/03/2016 - IN DECISIONE
01/04/2016 - MODIFICA TERMINE

Has anyone else had 'modifica termine' on their log for the case? Not sure what it means.

It may be very difficult. I need to amend an 1895 death 1880 marriage, 1893 birth, and 1916 marriage. All in Michigan.

Specifically spelling errors: i.e. Louisa Messino instead of Louisa Mersino... Wrong mother name on marriage and birth. Elizabeth and Jennie instead of Louisa. And wrong date of birth on death certificate 1817 instead of 1819...

Death certificates are not necessary in 1948 cases. Minor spelling mistakes aren't a problem either. Wrong names, though...
