Thank you for keeping me in the loop, John! You've certainly had a busy time unrevelling here, and I'm pleased it is now sorted. I've been looking at Raffaele Antonio Iafolla's birth extract and I see he had a twin sister – Anna Maria Elisabetta. There are two babies recorded on this birth extract and obviously also on the original birth record, which is interesting? I have a lot of twins born in the two towns that I am researching and only once, that I recall, have I seen twins recorded on the same birth record. Twins are usually recorded separately. Well, that's my oberservation. Did you know already that Raffaele had a twin sister?
Not sure what may have caused the clerical errors with the birth extracts. It is interesting that the mothers of both grooms are named Domenica Ottaviani. Maybe that had something to do with the errors – or not. It will be interesting to see, as you go back further, whether the two Domenica Ottaviani's are related.
BTW, another good reason for keeping a copy of the indices is because as you go back further and find more people in your history, you may have to revisit some of the films. If you have the indices to check, you will then know which film to re-view.
All the best with your research, John.

Angela,
This research took full two days at the Family History Center to find all the misfiled records; I examined all the processetti records for 1844.
Yes, I knew that Raffaele had a twin sister, Anna Maria Elisabetta. If you look at the posted birth extraction record for Raffaele, I underlined the name: Anna Maria Elisabetta.
Angela, I have a unrelated question about the spelling of the given male name: Giannangelo. In some records, I have examined, this given male name ended with an "o;" however, in other records it ended in a definite "a." I know that a male given name ends in the letter "o." However, there times when the male is also given female name to honor a female ancestor.
So, which one is the correct spelling for a male: Giannangelo or Giannangela? Or, could either one be used for a given male name ?

Yes, I can imagine it would have taken a good while to sort this out. Very well done!
I'm no expert on Italian male names but I would say the correct spelling for a man is Giannangelo. If I saw Giannangela, then like you say, that would be a woman's name. A friend of mine, Angela, was named in honour of her grandfather Michelangelo. Can you post one of these records where the male is named Giannangela?

Angela,
Yes, look at the attached posted image for Maria Felice Stella's father: Giannangela (clearly ends in an "a") Stella. Other records, clearly have the given name ending in an "o."

Hi again
I think that because the names Giannangelo Stella run together, (when first written in this record), it is deceptive, and it "looks like: GiannangelaStella but it is in fact Giannangelo Stello. If you look at the bottom of the record where the name Giannangelo Stella do not run together, it is clearly Giannangelo Stella. Sorry to be so repetitive here. (Big smile)

Angela,
You are right; I should have examined the entire document. Thanks for your help!
