Francesco Saverio Cipriano, son of the lae Giulio, 31yo, agricoltore, living in Frigento, presented a baby girl, who he reported was born today, at 4 am, to his wife Maria Rosaria Cocchiola, daughter of Rocco, at a house in Contrada Fontana Levara, which daughter was given the name Maria Rosa.

Witnesses:
Signori Nunzio Cocchiola, son of the late Giuseppe, 46yo and Nicola Nardovino, son of the late Raimondo, 26yo, both land owners, living in Frigento.

I don't think it was changed. I think they just made an error in the index. In the body of the record the child is named Maria Rosa. They possibly got muddled with the mother's name which is Maria Rosaria.

(I didn't know this was a duplicate request, so don't worry. I hope this translation matches the other translation. )

That's what I meant, not changed necessarily, it was a mistake.........

If you look closely to the name in the index, you will see that the letters "ria" are crossed out (there is a line above and one below the letters)
