Need some more help translating

Post by Jamiepalma2 »

I want to apologize about how many documents I need translated. I had no idea I would be able to find this many when I started. I wish I was able to make out the words in these documents. I really appreciate all the help everyone has given me.

Sorry I was thinking the top left donato had the last name Ferrari/a. Is that a T not an F. I have a really hard time making out the letters. I'll see if I can find the document real quick.

The deceased person in the top left record is Emanuele Tornelli, aged 2, son of unknown parents. Donato "Ferrara", is one of the declarants, and I'm not sure about his surname...

:D

The following write up might help you locate these particular records that you are currently looking for.

Here is the index page relevant to Donato Ferrara's record: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 6.jpg.html

This is a fantastic index page because it gives you most of the information you need for genealogical purposes.
From left to right you have:

Record No – Surname of Deceased – Name of Deceased – Birth Town – Father – Mother – Date of Death

Scroll down to No 121-Ferrara-Donato ......date of death is 25 Agosto (August)
So from this you know you are looking for No 121 (cento ventuno)
To find these particular records look for the index number on the records ie “Num.d'Ordine cento ventuno (it is writtten in words, not numerals, in this set of records), at the top left of the record. When the date of the event is also included in the index, as it is in these records, that is also another clue of where you might find your record. Be mindful though, that not all indices are set out as well as these ones. They vary from town to town, year to year, etc.

If you are researching more than one town, it can sometimes be more productive to go through each town separately. That way you get to know the different quirks of each town, jargon used, and how they kept their registers etc. You also get to know the surnames of the town - very easy in my case though, because my towns are quite small.

Thank your for the tip! It tried it out this morning and I found the document a lot faster! I had a great one to try out first though! It was document number 1! :D

Tommaso Fantacuzzi and Camille Gianvittorio marriage 1821 in Cepagatti Italy

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 2.jpg.html

Hopefully by documenting the files that need to be translated it will make it easier for people to find ancestors if they are looking for the same ones Ive been researching.

Glad you found my tips helpful. The antenati site is down at the moment so I can't translate this for you. Hopefully it will be up and running again soon. :)

What might make things even easier, all round, is to start a new thread for each translation needed. Just head it up Marriage: Tommaso ......etc This way the translation needed, won't get lost in long threads, and we can easily see that a document needs to be translated. Just a thought.

Marriage Record: Tomasso Fantacuzzi and Camilla Gianvittorio

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Marriage No 1: Tomasso Fantacuzzi and Camilla Gianvittorio
Cepagatti: 3 February 1821

Groom: Tomasso Fantacuzzi, 24 yo, born in Penne, living in Pianella, son of deceased Ferdinando Fantacuzzi, and Anna Zopita Chiappini, living in Pianella

Bride: Camilla Gianvittorio, 24 yo, born in Cepagatti, living Cepagatti, daughter of Guiliano Gianvittorio, contadino, living Cepagatti, and of deceased Lucia Croce

They were married on 3 February 1821 in the parish of Cepagatti.

Allegati listed:
1. Birth Act of Groom
2. Birth Act of Bride
3. Death act of Ferdinando Fantacuzzi, father of the groom
4. Death Act of paternal grandfather of Groom
5. Death act of mother of bride
6. Notificazione made in this town
7. Notification made in Pianella

Fortunately, the allegati (attachments) for this marriage are on line and they start here (with Tommaso's baptism record): http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 6.jpg.html

The next image is Camilla's baptism record which is in Latin....... and so on - as per allegati info in marriage record which I have listed. I have a commitment today so don't have time to translate these. What you could do is post each record individually (the first five are the most important) and then other volunteers will see them and translate. You never know what you are going to get with allegati – they can be a real treasure chest. :D :D :D

:D
Well I had sneak preview  and I can tell you that Anna Zopita's father was Nicola Chiappini :D
You've posted the attachments correctly, I just had a quick look at them. Because there are Latin records there, I probably would've posted the attachments separately, but it's fine. It's good to keep them altogether like that.
