1810 Marriage-age of Bride, Mother of the bride?

Post by Haztek »

Looking for the age of the bride and her mother's name.

Please verify the following: Groom: Giosafatto Scivette, Father: Giuseppe Mother: Marta de Ninno

Bride: Serafina Alltieri, Father: Domenico

Thanks, jerry

Serafina was nineteen. I'm reading the mother's name to be Grazia? Iammiri?. I can't find the surname Iammiri though, but that's what it looks like. I am reading Giosafatto Scivetti and I guess as you go on you will see the correct spelling in the records. I don't know about Alltieri - I can't get a good enough pic to verify. Yes, groom's father is Giuseppe, mother is Marta de Nino.

Good you have some records on line now, Jerry - though I'm not so sure they are that much easier to read. Keeps us thinking so that's good. :)

Edit to Add: Serafina's mother's name might possibly be Grazia Tammiri. I haven't checked to see whether Tammiri appears in the town though. Also, I'm not sure whether you were wanting to know what was written before Serafina's name but it is the word for spinster (zitella). I forget to mention this earlier.

Angela:

Thanks for the help! Yes, it is nice to have the records on-line, but this is a project for a friend. My family research is still limited to microfilms at the Family History Center 50 miles away

Wow, that is some commitment, Jerry. (I'd be crying too.) Thankfully, all mine have been on line for about a year now, so no more having to order films. I was able to view my films at an associate library before, a short distance from home, so was very fortunate....and they have really upmarket user friendly readers, with the capacity to save images easily to a usb stick. Hopefully yours will be on line soon too.

Angela :)
