Requesting additional records

Post by GrowlyGirl »

Hello,

Back in the summer, I had asked for help in requesting a birth certificate from the town of Nocera Umbra. I contacted them using the info provided here and was successful in obtaining my grand-father's birth certificate. (The email address would not work, but snail mail worked fine.) Predictably, it provided my great grand-father's and great-grandmother's names, and as a bonus, written on there was my grand-parent's wedding date.

So, it seems like my dad's, dad's family could all be from this town, and based on other info I have, my dad's mom's family is from there as well (although my grandmother was born in the US). I wish I could just say 'please give me all you've got' on this family and that family. LOL! What do I do instead? Must I ask one at a time for each person's birth certificate? Would it be better at some point to request a marriage certificate (would that give any indication of a person's birth place)? Are they going to get tired of hearing from me?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Civil records for this town are on line at https://familysearch.org/search/collection/2043831 back to 1861. Prior to that you will need to access parish records.

Depending on the town, you could also request the stato di famiglia from the commune.
