Help finding a marriage record?

Post by Robin B Mc »

There's an index of a marriage record on Ancestry:

Name: Vincenzo David
Spouse: Rosa Pisciotta
Marriage Date: 7 nov 1895
Marriage Place: ufficio 1, Palermo
Father Name: GioachinoGando David
Mother Name: Fr Paola Pagano
Volume: 171
Number: 534

I went looking for the record on FamilySearch. It looks like the Palermo marriage record for 1895 start here: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639

The index says ufficio (office) 1, but as far as I can tell the offices aren't numbered. So I looked through all the offices for 1895 and didn't find this record. The index also says volume 171, number 534, but as far as I can tell, the books don't have volume numbers either?

What am I missing here? Where is this mysterious record? It's driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide any help or insight on how to find this record.

The records of Palermo online are incomplete on familysearch.org you would have to send to Palermo for the original record
If you scroll to the bottom of this link there are indexes available 1820-1895 on microfilm that ancestry has gotten from Hugh Torebene but not the records at the present time
