2GG grandparent 30 Dec 1839 Marriage

Post by roobyred »

Can someone help me find the parents names of the bride Anna Calouri and groom Nicolantonio Mancini? Does it give their ages? What other info can be found? This is quite a large document!
Thanks in advance. Roberta

Roberta, the writing is much too small. It can't be read. What you need to do is, if the record is on line, just post the link to the image ie the url. There is no need to post it as an attachment.

Good luck.

Will this work?
Perfect Roberta, this is all we need.

I've just noticed that mmogno has typed up the Italian for you. Here's the English translation, which I've just typed up.

Act of Promise to Marry: No 65
Casacalenda: 29 December 1839

Prospective Groom: Nicolantonio (spelled Nicol'Antonio in the record) Mancini, 46, born Casacalenda, calzolaio (cobbler/shoemaker), living same town, son of Michelangelo Mancini, who was deceased, and Brigida di Tomaso, also deceased

Prospective Bride: Anna Caluori, 20, born Casacalenda, daughter of Francesco Caluori, tintore (dyer), living here, and Maria di Martino, who was deceased.

It mentions the allegati that was presented:
1. Birth Act of the future groom
2. Birth Act of the future bride
3. Death Act of the father, mother and paternal grandfather of the groom
4. Death Act of Maria Teresa Biello, who was the wife of the groom
5. Death Act of the mother of the bride.

…. etc (routine acts)

The marriage took place on 30 December 1839 – the marriage details are on the right had side column.

Angela,
I have more questions. HOpe you won't mind. :D

Do any of the below acts give names, death dates or ages of the deceased :?:

3. Death Act of the father, mother and paternal grandfather of the groom
4. Death Act of Maria Teresa Biello, who was the wife of the groom
5. Death Act of the mother of the bride.

Also, Brigida di Tomaso - is di Tomaso her fathers name? If so, does it give her maiden name?

Thanks, Roberta

Do any of the below acts give names, death dates or ages of the deceased :?: Death Acts are Death Records and so they should give all this information and also hopefully the parents names of the deceased, which will take you back further.

3. Death Act of the father, mother and paternal grandfather of the groom
4. Death Act of Maria Teresa Biello, who was the wife of the groom
5. Death Act of the mother of the bride.

Also, Brigida di Tomaso - is di Tomaso her fathers name? If so, does it give her maiden name? di Tomaso is Brigida's maiden name. Italian women don't change their surnames when they marry. They keep their maiden name.

Thanks, Roberta

Let me know if you need help finding the correct ones. Sometimes it is a bit of a mission to find the correct marriage package.

Edit to Add:
Marriage Package for Nicolantonio and Anna starts here: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 1.jpg.html

Yes, indeed!!! I've just been looking at the allegati, and have extracted the information from the records for you. I'll post them shortly. (I just need to check something.) I think you'd better sit down and take some deep breaths, because they contain even more information. They are fantastic allegati. Watch this space......

Allegati: Nicolantonio Mancini e Anna Caluori

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Page 1: Cover Sheet
Volume 65 of Written Pages/Sheets 8
on the marriage of
Nicolantonio Mancini and Anna Caluori

Page 2: Birth/Baptism Extract: Nicolantonio Mancini (Groom)
Extract from the Register of Birth from the town of Casacalenda, the year 1794
Born: 12 March 1794, 6 pm and baptised the same day – Santa Maria Maggiore
Parents: (married couple) Michelangelo Mancini, son of Nicola Mancini, and Brigida di Tomaso, daughter of Francescantonio Mancini
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Page 3: Birth Extract No 185: Anna Caluori
Casacalenda: 25 July 1820, 4 pm
Appearing was Francesco Caluori, son of Domenico (Caluori), agricoltore – farmer, living this town, to present a baby girl born to his legitimate wife, Maria di Martino, 26 yo, living with him (Francesco), the declarant, 46 yo, agricoltore. Anna was born on 24 July 1820, at their home.

Baptised on 25 July 1820. (Right side column)

This is the link to the original 1820 Birth and Baptism Records which I've translated: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Page 4: Death Extract No 132: Michelangelo Mancini (Father of Groom)
Casacalanda: 3 September 1812
Appearing were Nicola Mancini, nephew of the deceased, 22 yo, calzolaio (cobbler/shoemaker), living this town, Strada Fosso del Vento, and Francesco di Tomaso, 40 yo, agricoltore (farmer), living Strada San Giovanni, to report that on 3 September Michelangelo Mancini, husband of Brigida di Tomaso, son of the deceased Nicola Mancini and Antonia Polisana, died. He was 48yo, calzolaio, living this town, Strada San Giovanni, and died in his own house.

Link to original 1812 Death Record: (This gives more info than the Extract so this is what I've translated for you) http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Page 5: Death Extract No 139: Brigida di Tomaso (Mother of Groom)
Casacalanda: 13 July 1837
She died the same day at 11 am in her house. She was aged 70 when she died, born Casalandra, a contadina (peasant), who lived in the town, and the widow of Michelangelo Mancini. Her parents were Francesco Antonio di Tomaso who was deceased and Elisabetta Natarelli, who of course was also deceased. You might like to look for the original 1837 Death Record which may have further info. When available, I always keep the original record rather than the extract. Sometimes extracts have errors in them.

More to come. The site only takes so many urls in one post.

Allegati: Nicolantonio Mancini and Anna Caluori cont

Page 6: Death Extract: Nicola Mancini (Paternal Grandfather of Groom)
This is in Latin so I would suggest you post this record separately and someone who is able to translate Latin records will look at it for you.

My suggestion is to just head it up Latin Death Extract: Nicola Mancini and post the url: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Page 7: This is the death act of Maria Teresa Biello, the groom's first wife. Let me know if you would like this translated as well.
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Page 8: Death Extract: Maria (di?) Martino
Casacalenda: 6 March 1831, 8 pm
(One of the people reporting the death is Michele Caluori, brotherinlaw to the deceased. He lived in the town, was 40 and a contadino.)

Maria (di?) Martino died on 5 March 1831, 4 pm, in her home, was the wife of Francesco Caluori, 40 yo, born in Ripabottoni, a contadina, living Casacalanda, daughter of Giovanni (di?) Martino, who was deceased, and of Rosa Ramaglia, also deceased.
(Once again, it would be good for you to find the original 1831 Death Record.)

So some more names and another town for you to research.

Happy to help :D

I looked at Livio's translation of the Latin record, and have had another look at Michelangelo Mancini's Death Extract here, and I believe Livio :) is right, the correct spelling of Michelangelo's mother's name is Polisena.

Possible Marriage: Francesco Caluori and Maria Di Martino

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

I'm 99.9% sure that this is the marriage record for Anna Caluori's parents which gives you her father's mother's identity. Maybe just put it to the side for now until you've worked on the other documents here :)

Marriage Record No 21: Francesco Antonio Caluori and Incoronata Maria Martino
Ripabottoni: 28 September 1810

Groom: Francesco Antonio Caluori, 34 yo, Viaticale (Hauler/Carrier), born and living in the town of Casacalenda, son of Domenico Antonio Caluori, bracciale, and Maria Antonia Interlino

Bride: Incoronata Maria Martino, 21, born and living in this town of Ripabottoni, daughter of Giovanni Martino, bracciale (farm hand/labourer), and of Rosa Ramaglia.

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Note: The marriage record doesn't say anything about Francesco Antonio Caluori being a widower but I've had a look at the marriage banns and it says that he was the widower of the deceased Marta Rampa of Casacalenda, so it always pays to look at the marriage banns as well. No 48:

Hi Angela, I think I am on "info  overload"...but I have a question or 2...I hope you don't mind.

page 5: Brigida di Tomaso died the same day as what/who ?
page 7: could I have some info about the death of Maria Teresa Biello, groom's 1st wife.

After this I will be away for a few weeks. A needed break.

You have been so helpful, it's just amazing! I don't know how to thank you. Roberta
