I just found out my grandfather birth name.
Giovanni Ciotti's birth record from "Pieve di Cadore" august 23, 1880-(birth registered on the 24th-he was born to a woman who did not wish to be named and given the name "Giovanni Luigi Corletta" and was later recognized by his mother "Gevona Domenica"(Domenica Genova -widow of Giuseppe Ciotti"(12 august 1895???)
the record from august-1895-Domenica Genova recognizing her son-whose name was given as Giovanni Luigi Corletta-at the time of his birth in 1880-he is listed in this record as "Giovanni Luigi Genova"(given the surname of his mother Domenica Genova) his father was Giuseppe Ciotti
This is the info that was given to me. I would like to know if there is anymore who his mother was and father. Also, why he was or who are the Corletta is that a family or just a random name.
Genova Family
Re: Genova Family
What I get out of this is Domenica Genova in 1895 recognized her son Giovanni Luigi Corletta born in 1880 and his name was changed to Giovanni Luigi Genova the surname of his mother
Domenica Genova was married to Giuseppe Ciotti but he died 2/16/1874 so she wasn't married at the time of his birth that why his surname is Genova instead of Ciotti . I looked but there is no death records for 1874 online for Pieve di Cadore
What year did Giovanni Luigi Genova get married?
