Jure Sanguinis Detroit Consulate, Spelling- many questions

Post by sdetty007 »

Hello,

I am applying for Jure Sanguinis through my Grandmother who was an Italian Citizen when my Mother was born in the 60s. I realized recently that my Grandfather's name was written as Frank on my Mother's birth certificate when he was born Francesco. Will I have to amend my Mother's birth certificate to reflect his given name or is it not an issue as we are applying through my Grandmother's line?

Also my Grandfather's last name is spelled Larosa on his birth certificate but listed as La Rosa on my mother's birth certificate. Is this also something We must change?

Can my adult brothers (over 20 years old) and my Father (married to my mother for 30 years) apply together with the same set of documents if we each have our own application forms? Can my Wife (married 3 years) apply with us?

Lastly, is their a guideline for translating documents? Can I just make a copy of the document in question and write the italian equivalent language where applicable? There are many people that speak and write Italian in our family, just not sure what the translations need to look like exactly.

Thank you so much for all your help in answering my many questions.
