Ricciardi translation help

Post by khoney »

Would someone please translate this record for me? I see several names that appear in my family tree but the relationships to not match up so I must be missing something.

Thank you,
Karen

Birth No 101: Rosa Carolina Ricciardi
Chiaromonte: 28 September 1866

Appearing was Giovanni Ricciardi, son of deceased Vincenzo, 32 yo, possidente (landowner), born and resident in Chiaromonte, who reported to me (the official) that on 26 September at 11 am, in the house where he lived, in Via Solferino, No 4, was born from him, and from his wife Concetta de Salvo, daughter of Vincenzo, 25 yo, contadina, born and resident in this town, a baby girl who he presented, and named Rosa Carolina.

The other names mentioned there towards the end are the witnesses to the birth declaration and the presentation of the neonate.

Thank you Angela,

As I said in the prior post, the names came up in my family tree but the relationships did not match. I had a lot of trouble reading this one so I greatly appreciate you taking the time to translate it.

Thanks again,
Karen

You are very welcome, Karen. These records with no template can be a challenge to read at times, especially when they include unfamiliar words like this one does.
