how to determine- c-file number versus document numbers

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

how to determine- c-file number versus document numbers

Post by kgulinoperez »

Could you understand the difference between the C-file and the petition number? Im trying to obtain the certified copies from USCIS for naturalization papers.

I have 3 different papers for my great-grandfather: his petition for naturalization, his declaration of intention and his naturalization certificate.

 they all have different numbers!

-petition for naturalization: has a number at the top-right, just above where it says "original", but then there is an empty no.____ at the top left.

-declaration of intention: has a number at the top-left, but then there is ANOTHER number on top of that number.

-naturalization certificate: has a number at the top-left, presumably the certificate number, but then there is also another number, which is the volume and petition number!

SOOO, you can see my confusion! I have no idea which number is the correct one to give to USCIS to request this file. please help if you have any clue! I have uploaded some pictures of the photocopies I have for reference, and my finger to show where those numbers are.

THANK YOU!!!
