Family notes

Post by wlattuca »

Could someone help me translate the attached notes? They were in the possession of my grandfather, from his father. One is lamenting the death of my great grandmother, the other appears to be some type of death notice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wayne

I try...please correct my mistakes so that I can improve.

Sir,
Angiolina Rocchi née Farace,
very rare among fond and upright wives,
very exemplary among lost loving mothers,
very distinguished among pious, humble, modest, charitable, and religious women
blessed by Noepoli, Bella and Tursi
cried for by all the people in a plebiscite of love,
passed away in Latronico on Dec 20th, 1882 at the green age of 40,
throwing her husband, Cancelliere Francesco Rocchi, into an abyss of pain and desolation with five tender children, and, as his only relief, the awareness of not having disregarded any action to save her from the lethal disease, that tore her from the peace and consolation of her family.
We share such sorrow with you, wishing a prayer for her upright soul.
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi
