I have a church marriage record from 1569 from Acireale in Sicily. It is the marriage of Battista Gisaro and Marsiella Mortillano. (record on left)

I need help reading the groom's father's name. It looks to me like Manbre, but that doesn't look like a name I have encountered before. Does anyone have any alternate readings?
I am also trying to read where they were from: just after the groom's father's name "di la terra d'-----". I can't quite understand the writing there either.
This marriage record of the bride's brother (bottom left) may help as well.

Thanks,
Kevin

"Di la terra di Yachi" means "from Aci" (Acireale today)brogie62 wrote: 27 Nov 2017, 17:12

Thanks Marcello. I thought that was a possibility but the 'f' is written like a 'b' and not like any of the other 'f's in the entry.

Thanks Marcello. I thought that might have been it. I am somewhat familiar with the history of the area: Jaci and Aci Superiori, etc. However, I had never seen it written that way. I think they were referencing Jaci outside of Acireale as Acireale at that stage was generally referred to as Aquilia or Aquila.
