Angelo Bilancia Death Statement from Priest

Post by abbywhite650 »

Hi,

Would someone be able to translate the attached document for me. (I tried to attach a file, but I can't tell if it is attached or not.)

It is suppose to be a statemet from a Priest that the groom's father is deceased and he was unable to find a death record.

I'd really like an actual english translation.

Thanks
Jackie

Hi Jackie, this isn't the father of the groom, it is the paternal grandfather (avo paterno) of the groom.

My understanding, not verbatim: It is a certificate written and signed by the Archpriest Curate of the Cathedral Church of S. Gerado of the City of Potenza, certifying that he had searched the death records of his parish, and not found the name of Angelo Bilancia, paternal grandfather of the groom, Angelo Raffaele Bilancia. He was confident that he had been dead about fifty years, and more.
