Attached is a death record from a church in Sicily, 1755. What I am trying to figure out is the first name of the father, looks like "Coriolani"? But also, i'm trying to figure out what the word immediately before Coriolani says.
Thanks

Thank you gentlemen...curious as to why they used ‘quondam’ here on this entry and not on the other records, all of these are death records.

'quondam' is referred to the parents to indicate that they are deceased.
See the first record on the left: Michele Ippolito, aged 8, son of Francesco (who is living, since it is not preceded by quondam)

Ok I get it now...thanks! Still trying to get a grasp on Latin, if it were in italian and said something like "Fu" I would've understood right away.liviomoreno wrote: 30 Jan 2018, 07:20 'quondam' is referred to the parents to indicate that they are deceased.
