Help with Profession #2

Post by Rossonero3 »

Please help identifying this profession. Attached is a birth record for Francesco Vivirito in 1864, father is Giuseppe Vivirito. His profession looks like "Crivaio"? This record is from Cerda, Palermo.

Grazie

Very unusual...
According to a Google search I made:
Crivaio was a "profession" that consisted in engraving large leather sieves with even ornamental designs.

My cheat sheet has nothing exactly like that but only these nearly the same
Crivellaio & Crivellatore--both of which mean as Livio said: ''Sieve Maker"

Very interesting...I imagine this was the beginnings of his career as a tinsmith / blacksmith.
