The mother's surname of Godines confuses me. I thought it should have read Dominguez from other records I have seen.

Often the person who reported the death did not know the exact name of the parents, especially if the deceased was not young...

Possibly, but then the 1930 census record (lines 23-29 for the family) has the mother's surname as Dominguez. See link -

Ana is not listed, but she would have been 26 and probably married by then.
