Grosso and Mento Families Rometta

Post by Kristin676 »

I am looking for information on the my 4x great grandparents Giacomo Grosso and Rosa Mento.

I believe they were both born in Rometta of Saponara in about 1786.

Their daughter my 3x great-grandmother was Giuseppa Grosso, she was married to my 3x great-grandfather Nicolo Merlino.

I am hoping to find any information that someone might have.

Thank you for all the help.

You will need to access parish records for these dates.

Sort of unrelated, but it's cool to know you might be related to Fabio Grosso, hero of the 2006 World Cup. He scored the extra time goal that put Italy ahead in the semifinal and then put in the last touch of the tournament with the winning penalty kick in the final: https://youtu.be/QC3gUjrOaPM?t=42s

Is Fabio Grosso from Sicily? I don't follow soccer. But yes is would be cool.

Hoping to find something on the Grosso and Mento families in Sicily soon.

Thanks
