Gaetano & Albina Caruso Mystery

I am hoping that someone can shed some light on a mystery I have

This is the birth record to Gaetano Caruso, son of Concetta Ippolito and Leopoldo Caruso

He is born in 4 May 1878 I believe. I am wondering if he is illegitimate?

Second is the attach record for Albina Caruso, daughter of Concetta Ippolito and Leopoldo Caruso.
I found the record on FamilySearch in the Salerno archives under Laviano but it is not in the Salerno archive website where I found Gaetano Caruso record.
I believe Albina is born 4 July 1888. Is she Illegitimate or Legitimate?
Here's where it get interesting

When you look at the US 1900 census for Leopoldo and Concetta is says they have been married 20 years so 1880. It also says they had 3 children and all 3 are alive. Saverio and Angiona both born in the US are listed with them. I can’t find a marriage record in 1879, 1880 or 1881.

To add to the mystery, Leopoldo went to the US in 1883 with his brother Nicola (There is a ship record showing this). That means Leopoldo would have had to have returned.
What do you think?
Are these children born to the same parents? Or are there two Concettas and Leopoldos? Are they Illegitimate or Legitimate? Do I have the date of births correct?
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Albina is born 7 July 1883, legitimate.
