Hi, I was able to locate the death record of my ancestor, but I am unable to make out what it says. I understand that he died drowning in the river, but I can't understand much else. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated! Thanks so much.

Re: Death Record Translation Help
Hi
This is what I understand from this death extract:
24 January 1795, Nicola, husband of Anna Iorio, (daughter of Saverio), and son of Carmine Alfonzo, and Domenica Fiorito, died as a result of drowning in the flooded Bifunno River, while he wanted, as it is said, to pull out a piece of wood from the river, that was used to carry water from such a river. His body, after long diligence/care could not be found (ritrovare?).
It may need some tweating? Someone else will take a look.
