Occupation: Sportellaio

Giuseppe Romano's occupation in this death record is sportellaio. I cannot find the definition of this occupation.

A “sporta” is a shopping basket, so a “sportellaio” must be a craftsman who makes shopping baskets.

I came across the following which shows a pic of a “sportellaio” and it seems to suggest that the craftsman speciifically worked with chestnut wood? I may not have this correct but someone like Pippo or mmogno will be able to help clarify.
