Sigismundus?

Post by jml1991 »

What would the Italian version of the Latin first name Sigismundus be? This name appeared on a 1636 baptismal record from Sicily.

Thank you!

How were you able to obtain a record from 1636? Are you in Italy directly?
This is a new account for the old user vspeciale66.

Thank you for the translation!

Ecclesiastical records for the town of Prizzi, Sicily, are available on FamilySearch.org. The baptismal, marriage and death records for Prizzi span the years 1566-1911 on this site. Some years are missing, and not all files are indexed, so it can be a labor-intensive (and sometimes impossible) task to find some records, but it has been a tremendous site for me. FamilySearch also has the records for other towns on its site.
