Summas of Avigliano

Post by montclaire »

I figured it would be easier to start a thread for everything rather than post what I find individually. As I have mentioned in a few other posts I have a very hard time reading the handwritten dockets.

I only need light translations and will be specific about what I am looking for. If you see something out of the ordinary, like a bride or groom listed as a widower, please mention. If the location is other than Avigliano, please mention as well (I am seraching Avigliano only, but I know if an event took place in another town they would also file at the Avigliano Anagrafe office).

Thanks!

Ok, first one. Birth Act #83 of 1872 for Antonio Summa. Parents are Pietro Summa and Anastasia Pesce. Looking for date - March 1st?

That's strange, I was in the Nati index. The records for Avgiliano are pretty poor though, and they scanned a whole bunch of dockets in sequence - must have jumped to Morti. Thanks anyway though, and as there was a lot of infant deaths in that time period I was already half expecting to find out he didn't make it.
