Translation of Marriage record help
Translation of Marriage record help
Hello All
Can someone help me with a complete translation of this marriage record? I may have just found a big missing piece to a puzzle! The family had always believed that Maria Carmina Stellato was married to Marcelino Molitierno, however it looks like she was a widow when she married Severio. Possibly his brother? She had a child in 1891 so is it possible that she married the brother after he husband died?
Thanks for the translation in advance and any thoughts.

Re: Translation of Marriage record help
Sorry, can't help as I don't have access to ancestry records. If you are able to provide the name of the town, the year, and the index number of the Marriage Record, then maybe one of us can find the marriage record on one of the other sites that has Italian bdms, and take a look for you.

The correct spelling of Maria Carmina Stellato's mother's name is Cavagnuolo. It looks to me like she was residing in Aprano - Cerri Aprano????bbivona wrote: 06 Sep 2018, 03:41 #5

Here's a copy of the Marriage Banns which gives a little more info e.g. death dates of the previous spouses: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... &cat=42281

I also want to add for vspeciale that the marriage banns confirm that Maria Carmina Stellato's first husband was Marcellino Molitierno. He died 30 April 1886.

Can you tell what the relationship is for Severio and Marcellino?

Re: Translation of Marriage record help
No, there is no mention of this. I've located Marcellino's 1886 Death Record. Marcellino and Saverio are not brothers:vspeciale wrote: 06 Sep 2018, 19:17 Can you tell what the relationship is for Severio and Marcellino?
Death No 49: Marcellino Molitierno
The record was registered in the town of Casaluce on 30 August 1886
Both the declarants were living in "Aprano" so I suspect Aprano must have been a little village closeby and not Cerri Aprano.
They reported that at 10.30 am today, in the house in Via Popone, No 8, Marcellino Molitierno, 52 yo, contadino, who had resided and was born in Aprano, died. He was the son of the deceased Gennaro (Molitierno) and the deceased Carmina Sgravo, both contadini who lived in Aprano when living. He was the husband of Maria Carmina Stellato.
