Italian Alias name

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

Attached is the 1593 Carini riveli for Simone Di Luca where he has an alias and it looks like Stamu. Would this be an alias for his first or last name. I did a search on the web and came up with nothing. Any thoughts?

I am also reading "Stamu" and I see that his eldest? daughter also has "Stamu" so I suspect it would be an alias for the surname. The Sicilian word "Stamu" translates to "we are" if that means anything.
