Help translating death record #2 of Clementa Pastore

Post by jrbak »

I have another record which I would appreciate help with the translation of my 2nd great grandfather's daughter, Clementa Pastore's, death record. I have also looked at length for the death record of my 2nd great grandmother Maria Bertola Pastore (her husband Ferdinando died in 1883) and I would like to know if this record of Clementa states Maria as still living or deceased. Clementa's record is the only other I have as a sibling to my great grandmother, Enrichetta Pastore (daughter of Ferdinando and Maria). Thank you so very much.

death act #2 dated 7 Jan 1922
Davide Ollearo, age 32, peasant farmer, residing in Piverone and Alessandro Brunnello, age 59, well-to-do, residing in Piverone, declare at hour 8, yesterday (6 Jan) in the house at Piverone Via Pianette #381, is dead Clementa Pastore age 58, house wife, born and residing in Piverone, [daughter] of [dec] Ferdinando Pastore residing in Piverone in life and of Maria Bertola, residing in Piverone, wife of Clemente Ollearo.

It appears Maria was still living at the time of Clementa's death

Thank you once again Donna for the translation of Clementa's death record. I am also grateful for finding out that Maria is still living at the time of Clementa's demise (that doesn't sound like I mean what I am trying to say) because I had been searching for her death record and thinking I missed it because her husband, Ferdinando died in 1883.
Thanks again,

Marriage Record: Clemente Ollearo and Francesca Clementina Pastore

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Hi Jefferie

Here are some more records pertaining to Clementa Pastore (aka Francesca Clementina Pastore) which I came across when I was researching Maria Bertola, and book marked them, and have just translated them for you. I don't think you have these. Am placing them here to keep Clementa's records together for future reference. You can come back to them when you have time, as you may be working on something else at the minute.

1886 Marriage No 1 Clemente Ollearo and Francesca Clementina Pastore (born 29 January 1864)
Piverone: 20 January 1886

Before the Mayor, Antonio Ollearo appeared:

Groom: Clemente Ollearo, 25 yo, asfaltatore (road layer), born in Piverone, resident in Piverone, son of Battista Ollearo, resident in Piverone, and of the deceased Teresa Orione, (who had resided in life) in Piverone.

Bride: Francesca Clementina Pastore, 21 yo, Cuoca (Cook), born in Piverone, resident in Piverone, daughter of the deceased Ferdinando Pastore, who resided in Piverone in life, and of Maria Bertola, residing Piverone.

Banns here No 1:
Only added information from the banns are that Battista Ollearo was a contadino aged 55.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1475996

Allegati Starts here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1475996

It includes Birth/Baptisms extracts of both the bride and groom as follows:

Clementina Pastore (Francesca Clementina Pastore), daughter of married couple Ferdinando Pastore and of Maria Bertola, was born on 29 January 1864 and was baptised the following day, Parish of Saints Pietro and Lorenzo, town of Piverone.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1475996

Clemente Ollearo, son of married couple Giovanni Battista Ollearo, and of Teresa Orione, was born on 7 June 1860 and was baptised the following day, Parish of Saints Pietro and Lorenzo, town of Piverone.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1475996

So just note that Clementa Pastore was named "Francesca Clementina Pastore" on birth/baptism records and also her marriage record. She must have later gone by the name Clementa Pastore, which does often happen. In case you don't know we don't have first and second names in Italian. If your name is Francesca, Clementina, Rosa on birth/baptism record then any of those names/variations of those names can be taken during your life.

Dear Angela,
Thank you so much for the marriage, banns, birth and baptism records for Clementa and Clemente. I am fortunate and grateful that you came across these on your other search. Thanks too, for letting me know all about the "naming" in Italian families. It is interesting and I did not know this. I guess she liked this name the best. There is not a day that goes by that I am not learning something new. Too, I received your message and liked your hint on how to go about getting the thread so that it is not broken. I have been doing it differently and I like your idea so much better. It is easier too. Will keep in touch.
Have a great day.
