Here's some geographical info from current Italian phone books, just as a start:

www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/genera.htm ... e=buccieri

www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/genera.html?cognome=cozza

Does that help?

Wow,

They seem to be all over Italy! Here's the Italian phone listings for buccieri

http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... =&ind=&nc=

and Cozza isn't any easier!

http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... =&ind=&nc=

As jcsm400 suggested...do you know from where they came or where the persons you are seeking immigrated to? If you know where and when they came and any possible first names you can view ship manifests and that will give you clues.

Here's a link to the Cozza's arriving through Ellis Island:

and here's the Buccieri's:

So remember, if they're ancestors of yours then start with yourself and work backwards..

Does this help?
