Help with Latin translation of 1706 marriage record of Lorenzo Negro (Negri)

Post by jrbak »

Good Afternoon,
I am in need of the Latin translation of this 1706 marriage record of my 6th great grandfather and his father, my 7th great grandfather. I cannot believe I have found these records- Wow!! I am thrilled. I am taking my time to be certain the names, dates etc. fall into place and I believe so.

It begins on the top right side of the page with Lorenzo, son of (Petri) Antonio and Elizabeth Orione, daughter of Lorenzo and then I am at a loss- I have really tried but cannot read the next lines (10 in all). Could someone please help with this translation. I am so sincerely grateful for your help.

Thank you so much again,

Dear PippoM,
I can't thank you enough for translating the dates as well as the sponsors names.

May I ask one question however? I saw a couple of letters before Antonio and my thought was that this was Petri for Peter or could this be the symbol for quondam too? I noticed that you did not have to correct me but I want to be certain I was correct because I have been going back further now into the 1600 records where there are many Petri Laurenti's or Petri Antonio's and I want to be sure of myself that I am on the correct line. The records are getting hard now especially the handwriting.
With much appreciation and respect.

Hi PippoM,
I thought you might be interested in this: I just found my 6th great grandfather Lorenzo's death record and it does mention his father, Peter Anthony, so it takes me back another generation too. Great!! Thanks for your help as always.
