Corona
Hi
First off I apologize for being forward and sending you a PM without your permission. I read your replies to someone's post regarding records etc and am hoping that you can maybe assist me.
My surname is Corona and I am trying to track this side of the family. There are four family help centres in Kenya, however all are non functional at present. So this avenue is closed to me.
On my Nonno's side (Corona),
The only details I have for this side are
Guiseppe Corona, born 31 August 1910 in Ventimiglia, Imperia. Son of Francesco Enrico Corona, born 27 December 1884 in Alessandria Piedmont (I think) and Ida Salvatico, born 20 January 1890 in Ventimiglia, Imperia. They were married 17 April 1909 in Ventimiglia, Imperia.
Guiseppe was believed to have served in the Navy if the photo I have is anything to go by, however again no information. Guiseppe married Annita Viale, born 31 October 1909, in Ventimiglia, Imperia, on the 21 April 1935. Again no concrete information on his military service or date of death.
Francesco Enrico Corona was the son of Guiseppe Corona (Senior) born circa 1855 and Angela Manbelli or Manfelli.
On this I would appreciate if someone else could read the record and define the surname of Angela.
The link to the record is http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0
Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Corrado Corona

You could write to the State Archives and request his military records. Someone here will help you with the correct address and an appropriate letter to write.

Sure.....the complete catalogue of filmed, and digitised, Civil Records and Church Records, for the town of Ventimiglia, is not currently available for homeviewing via the Family Search site.
However, I'm understanding that the publication of all these records, (Church Records inclusive), currently locked by Family Search from homeviewing, has been completed on the Italian site, which can be viewed, at the following links, by scrolling down to the respective town, clicking on it etc:
Ventimiglia: http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ntimiglia/
Ventimiglia: http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... +San+Remo/

I had a look in Alessandria, Alessandria 1884 birth records but no record there for Francesco Enrico Corona. (While there other possibilities in Italia ..... I'm also considering Alexandria, Egypt???) I did however find a Birth Record for his wife, Ida Salvatico. See below. What you could do, is write to Ventimiglia and ask for a copy of Francesco and Ida's 1909 Marriage Record and the allegati (attachments) they have. The attachments will include Francesco's Birth Extract, whether born in Ventimiglia or not.. Both his marriage record and birth extract will include his place of birth.
Giuseppe was believed to have served in the Navy if the photo I have is anything to go by, however again no information. Guiseppe married Annita Viale, born 31 October 1909, in Ventimiglia, Imperia, on the 21 April 1935. Again no concrete information on his military service or date of death.

Birth No 23: Ida Salvatico

Appearing was Pietro Salvatico, son of deceased Domenico (Salvatico), 30 yo, fuochista ferroviovieo? (railway stoker?) living this town. He reported that at 3 am on 20 January 1890, in the house in Strada di Breglio, No 7, from his wife Teresa Peitavino, daughter of deceased Pietro (Peitavino), donna di casa, living with him, was born a baby girl, who was not presented to the official, and named Ida Marianna.

@mmogno
Thank you for those two corrections, G. Yes, clearly "ferroviario" now that I take a look again with clear eyes. The word "corami" is interesting? I've not seen it before. Is it used more in Northern Italy? (Cuoio - leather) It makes sense though because in the Pubblicazione it looks like the father is referred to as a "conciatore" - "tanner".

Re: Corona
Hi all.
After coming to a brick wall on the Corona surname, and being stuck for almost a month or so, I finally found some Alessandria records, and guessed a date for my G G grandfathers marriage. I finally found the marriage record for Angela Maria Mantelli and Giuseppe Pietro Corona.
Please may i ask someone to decipher it for me, dates, towns etc.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=786287
Thanks in advance

Re: Corona
Hi again,
If anyone can help me go forward from here it would be appreciated, particularly in viewing records that are only available to members and or at family history libraries. As mentioned before the four FHL's that are here in Kenya are non functional.
Thanks

Re: Corona
Hi all,
I have just received an email from Ventimiglia. However even though I am fluent in Italian, read write and speak. I am having a hell of a problem deciphering what this woman actually means. Can someone with fresh eyes maybe look at the attached pdf file and see if they can make head or tails of it and point me in the direction of the file she mentions n.548
Thank you
