Translate Church marriage record
Re: Translate Church marriage record
The image is very small but I saved and then enlarged where I could make out the following information.
3 Feb 1843 marriage between Carmelus (Carmelo) Puma, son of Pietro and Anna Agnello, and Salvatrice Ignota, daughter of an unknown father and an unknown mother. Interstingly, this differs from the document you posted previously which showed Salvatrice's mother as Maria Agro'. Not sure if I missed any other posts since then.

Re: Translate Church marriage record
It was a church record versus a very faded civil record of the same marriage, recorded 4 days apart. I believe Ignota is not the maiden name but translates as "unknown". I find that church records leave a lot of important information out, but sometimes they are the only game in town especially before 1809 which this marriage isn't. The civil record seems to have the mother as Maria Agro, though again it was very faded. I am currently going through a lot of Puma church records from Racalmuto which I obtained from a genealogist. I had them separated into two folders, one for Puma related family and one for Puma non-related(to me) Family. As my tree has grown, I decided to take a second look at the non-related Family group and found (though I'm not quite finished yet) that about one third of them are family now. Most I can figure out on my own as the genealogist who gave me the church records for all Puma names for Racalmuto from the 1500s to the late 1800s did interpret them. It's odd but sometimes there are two church documents for the same marriage - one short with numbers and another long hand without numbers, just page numbers. I've found a couple with discrepancies in what the genealogist put down, that I've been able to figure out. Where I can't, I post here. I appreciate the help that I've been given. Pages 2-3 of some civil records are especially difficult for me since i don't know the Italian language and they are not pre-formatted which helps me like most page 1's.
