Help needed translating vital record

Thank you Angela and y mmogno! Hmm... so Margarita was named for her mom's mother. Could be the family had children before Margarita. These male names are not unique. They have continued to be passed on in my family. I'm now wondering if Vincenzo was the sibling of the Giuseppe in my first post?

Does anyone know if Caccamo will provide vital records earlier than 1820 to relatives in the USA?

Re civil records, it's quite possible that they didn't start in Palermo until 1820?, in which case you would need to go to Church Records. Maybe ask this question on the open forum, as there are others on the forum, who may not read this forum, who have researched towns in Palermo, who may be able to help you with this question.

Another way of going back further, is to check Marriage Allegati. They often contain Death Records of parents, grandparents, previous spouses where applicable, and other documents which may be helpful.

Once again thank you for the info.

I will check through the records you suggested.

My family - both parental & maternal - have continued naming their children in the Sicilian tradition. Only in the 2000s has some cousins decided to break with it.
