Church record locations for Solanto

Post by harleynut97 »

I've been researching Bagheria church records (very grateful they are online) but I also have ancestors in Solanto (now Santa Flavia) which is fairly close to Bagheria.

The church record description says the following

"At the end of each volume records for the following parishes have been included: Villabate, Bagheria, Ciaculli, Conte Federico, Falsomiele, Maredolce, Mezzomonreale, Pallavicino, Sferracavallo, Zisa

Would any of the above (Excluding Bagheria) have church records for Solanto?

Solanto is a hamlet in the Comune of Santa Flavia.
Check out http://www.parrocchiemap.it/parrocchiem ... nta+flavia
for a list of the parishs churches. If you click on the 'mappa' you can see that San Giuspee is the parihs church for Solanto.

Thank You Ann. Unfortunately it doesn't look like any church records are online. I guess I got really lucky that bagheria's were.

Hey Marty, I was looking for Solanto church records that would be before 1820, but I don't think they exist online.

While the names are very close, and both are in Palermo they are
to different towns, each having their own set of civil records. I did scan through a couple indexes from your link just looking for some last names.. Sorce, La Barbera, Testa, Bonanno but no luck. But thank you for your help.
