It took around 6 months to find a birth certificate or baptism record for my great great grandfather. I finally caved in and hired a private investigator who finally found the baptism record in Laureana Cilento, after physically travelling there and looking through the records. In my country, you've got to submit a letter asking for a "non-citizenship" certificate, which usually takes 30 days. Well, it was election year last year, and it took 7 months to get that letter. And then I had to get birth, marriage and death certificates for everyone, translate them, get the apostille, certify them in the consulate.
I had my papers ready by Christmas

But the lawyer I hired just sent me my case number

So here's to 1.5/2 years waiting for the final decision. But at least I'mg etting somewhere
