birth record shows a new spouse

Post by carolc »

Hi

I found this birth record for Giovanni Migliarese, son of Raffaele, and was surprised to see that he had a different spouse, Giovanna Buongiorno. Does this record say that he is widowed from his first wife? Her name was Agnese Faretra which I don't see on this record. But maybe I'm missing something.

Are you sure there was just one Raffaele Migliarese in Ariano at that time?
This one was 51 in 1829 and a "salassatore".
What are the other records you have for Raffaele?
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

The Raffaele Migliarese in my family and who was married to Agnese Faretra was also a salassatore and in Ariana so that caught my eye. They were married in 1809 and had at least four children that I found. When I saw his age I was surprised but maybe he married a younger woman. There could be two. I suppose I should see if I can find out if Agnese died and when. And maybe find the marriage record for Giovanna and Raffaele.

I took another look at the marriage record I have for Raffaele and Agnese and they were living in Principato Ultra. They lived there when their children were born, but at some point the family moved to Ariano, I just have to find who did and when. This could be a different Raffaele, guess I'll just keep digging and see what else pops up.
